Things Everyone Needs

Most nights you will be making food on the fire or on a small barbecue, so it’s a good idea to buy a small barbecue if you don’t have one already. If you can find a barbecue with burners for a pot that would be the barbecue to buy as long as it still can be used as a barbecue. A barbecue like that would be hard to find so you may have to buy two. Other things you will need for cooking are pots, pans, dishes and cutlery. It’s not the best idea to put your pots and pans on top of a fire unless they are iron but on burners they should be fine. For roasting food on the fire it’s nice to have a cooking stick, a cooking stick with a grill cage and bring spatulas for flipping food.

When camping it’s a good idea to pack a few extra pairs of clothes because you will most likely get smoky and dirty. Even if you are going camping in the summer bring long pants as well because you can get cold during late night campfire. Make sure to pack t-shirts, sweaters, a jacket, shorts, long pants, extra socks, underwear, pyjamas, rain gear, swimsuits and if you are out in the sun it’s a good idea to bring a hat. You should bring towels for swimming, showers, dishes and don’t forget dish soap! You should bring sneakers, shoes you don’t mind getting dirty, sandals for the beach and for the shower. Make sure all the shoes you bring are comfortable.

Make sure to bring shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, a hair brush and it’s not a bad idea to pack some advil incase of a headache. Make sure if you have personal medication to bring it as well.

Here are some things you should consider bringing, headlamps/flashlights, sunscreen, bug spray, extra batteries, compass, maps/directions, Tools (like hammers, screwdrivers, axes, etc.), a backpack, radio, camping chairs, an outdoor mat for shoes, sunglasses, tissues, cords and straps, duct tape, safety pins, bikes and helmets, work gloves, umbrella, hand wipes/hand sanitizer, and scissors.
